Masai Girl

This is the same girl in my Charcoal drawing 'Masai Girl'.
She has such a great face, I decided to do her as a painting.
Detail shot.

This will be going into Q gallery on Monday for a month. Hope I get a sale!

Latest Op shop haul

I went down to the Magill AWL last Saturday morning on a whim and am SO glad I did!
The detailing on them are so lovely. My favorite is the one on the left.

So seventies and so pretty!

I also found this dress. It's a size 14 so I'll be selling it. I've been thinking of setting up an Etsy shop for the things I find that aren't me or aren't my size. What do you think?

And last but not least, these sharp retro shoes in near perfect condition.
All for the grand sum of... drum roll please... $9!
I don't know why she gave it to me so cheap, it was supposed to come to $19.
You didn't hear me complaining :)

Great Aunt Ina

 Jean Ina Belle
Peggy and my Nanna the littler one Lillian

 Columbo above and below

 Gibralter

Below: My great Grandfather and Grandmother
Above: My Nanna came out to Australia when she was about 12 from England. She was a 'Jordy' a name for those that live up around Newcastle on Tyne, which my father says is a river. I'm yet to travel there to see for myself. Her older sister known as 'Aunt Ina' was older at the time, roughly 19. A few years back I ended up with a copy of her diary in which she wrote all about her trip over on the ' Otranto'. Along with that, I obtained some awesome black and white pictures of family in England, what she saw on the way over and photos from Australia. Thought I'd share some that interested me.

All stowed away neatly.

Thank you Tom and Bel for these drawers! Now we have room to stash away all Zen's clothes, extra bedding, an unsightly Plasma Ball, dressing gowns and slippers. Most of which was previously placed in an oversized basket and on the floor. Oh how I like my new room :)

Mucha

This is me with my beautiful bird brooche 'Mucha'. I recently purchased this little gem from Creatures of the Greenwood by Emgee. Emgee creates all sorts of creatures using ornate silver cutlery. Check out her work on facebook or at www.myblends.com.au :)
