Oh Spring! How I love you.

Happy Friday everybody!!
Spring has come early here in Adelaide much to the delight of all of its inhabitants.
Especially me :)
I did this painting of Peonies for Mum and Dad's 30th Anniversary last week.
It is now happily hanging above their bed.

My garden is coming alive and has gifted me with freesias (so far only yellow ones though. I've been noticing this in other peoples gardens too. Is this common for Freesias to bloom yellow ones first? Can anyone tell me?) hyacinths, iris's, a few orange poppies, lillies and lots of lovely lemons!

I love the way yellow goes 'pop'!

I did this little scribble whilst enjoying a rare afternoon off a few weeks back.
I thoroughly enjoy using water colour pencils and I particularly love doing my version of an old painting that I love. This one is 'The Emerald' by Mucha.

Here is my latest biscuit experiment. They are gluten free as always and so, so yummy!
Do give them a go.

In a large bowl sift together 50gm potato flour, 100gm chestnut flour, 1/4cup rice flour, 1/2tsp cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp mixed spice then mix in 50gm almond meal and 1 cup sugar.
To this mix add 1/4 cup almond paste, 1/4 cup rice bran oil, 1/2 cup chopped 70% chocolate, 1/2 cup roughly chopped roasted hazelnuts and 2 egg whites.

On a tray lined with baking paper roll them into little balls and squash down with a fork or your fingers.
Bake in pre-heated, fan-forced oven at 180 degrees for 20 min or until golden.

My green tin of yumminess.

And finally I thought I'd share with you my latest brooch by Emgee

I found this spoon at an Antique store and she cleverly turned it into this little beauty.
I just love it!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Love ~E xo
